Keeping It All Online

Its difficult to keep everything running smoothly for the scanner. Occasionally the scanner itself may get stuck in its trunking and need to have the power cycled; though this happens only rarely. Much more often there is a problem with the internet connection or PC that sends the scanner stream to the internet server.

The flash media encoder does not like it when the connection drops out to the flash media server on the internet. Often times it simply will not recover, which is why the scanner is sometimes offline during bad weather.

Just yesterday I had to upgrade my flash media server hosting to allow for more bandwidth consumption for the scanner. The expense is adding up, but I still plan to keep it online.
