Random Fears

Sometimes my brain reaches out into the infinite void that is my own ignorance and tries to draw conclusions and links that may or may not be present.

Today has been one of those times.

I have been reading about early civilization, one source mentioned that the Sumerians instructed themselves mathematically with a sexagesimal system (base 6). Odd I first thought, such a unique number.

I recall other texts I have read that proposed the "Men of renown" "Giants of old" (nephilim from the book of genesis and enoch) had 6 fingers.

So my mind says "Hey!!, a six fingered person would naturally establish a 6 or 12 base system of counting", thus establishing a link in my silly brain between a possibly preflood civilization, the nephilim, and a system of account.

Next I come across a proposal for the redesign of our modern calendar, based upon a sexagesimal system. This Sexagesimal Calendar is interesting in that defacto it would abolish the sabbath day (only having 6 day weeks).

So now my little feeble brain says "Wait! Isn't that what the seventh day adventists believe concerning the Antichrist and mark of the beast? he will abolish 7th day worship". Of course this calendar would not directly attack 7th day worship, but would rather circumvent the sabbath all together.

"And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High and think to change TIMES and laws: and they shall be given into his hands until a time and times and the dividing of times" (Daniel 7:25).

Now my brain insists that these strings of association actually have something to them... Nephilim (prodigiy of fallen angels), Preflood civilization, sexagesimal number system, Antichrist (whos number is 666), mark of the beast, and a sexagesimal calendar proposal..

How strange my mind is.
